A centralised project dashboard for Mr. Smith’s agency in the United States, built on the MERN stack, with a Next.js landing page that opens it to the public.

Client Overview

Mr. Smith, from the United States, runs a digital marketing agency and asked us for a centralised dashboard to track the agency’s web development projects. The brief was a single place where the work could be planned, followed and reported on. Later he decided to make the system publicly available for anyone to test for free, which meant it needed a public face as well as the tool behind it.

The problem

The agency needed one place to follow web development projects, instead of updates spread across messages and meetings, and a way to keep customers informed without them having to ask. Developers, managers and customers all had to work in the same system, each with the access that suited their role, and projects and tasks had to connect to each other. Once the system was opened for free testing, it also needed a clear landing page to explain what it does and bring new users in.

Our Solution

We built the system on the MERN stack. Users create workspaces, create projects inside them, and assign members different roles with different capabilities. The most important part is sharing: project milestone status, checklist status and deliverables can be shared with customers directly. One centralised login serves developers, managers and customers, so projects and tasks stay connected. For public access we built a landing page in Next.js and connected the system to it, so a visitor can move from reading about the product to trying it. The landing page is set in charcoal and white, the system in near-black and white with soft status colours, and both use DM Sans.
